The Yamaha Clavinova CLP-825 PE digital piano is the first step in the CLP series, and therefore one of the most popular entry-level/start-up pianos. The speaker system and en Grand Touch piano keyboard makes you feel like you're sitting behind a real piano. The Bluetooth audio and midi functionality allows you to play along with your favorite songs instantly, take online lessons and control the piano via phone.

The CLP 825 is a piano for everyone. The highly responsive keyboard gives experienced pianists the same possibilities in terms of expression as an acoustic instrument, but beginners have and overall better experience when practicing. Also it very wise for anyone in lessons to choose a somewhat higher quality keyboard. If the quality of the piano in lessons is many times higher than the one you have at home, it can be demotivating or you cannot practice some techniques at home at all. With the CLP 825, you don't have this discrepancy.

The sound of the digital piano comes from the speakers, of course, and so does the computer. In the new 800 series, Yamaha has made extra use of the acoustics of the cabinet by placing the speakers in such a way, and spreading their sound, that the sound is distributed exactly as it would be with an acoustic piano. Combine this with the new generation of chips used to allow even more of the sample to be heard, and you have an unparalleled experience not previously possible in this price range.

Improved GrandTouch-S keyboard

The piano features the Improved GrandTouch-S Wooden Keys keyboard, with 88 synthetic ebony and ivory keys. The Improved Grand Expression modeling gives the Clavinova an authentic, realistic sound, through both headphones and speakers. The Grand Acoustic Imaging technique cleverly uses the acoustics of the piano itself, making the sound even more realistic. Also new to the 800 series is that the half-point touch can now be used from the 0 to the 0.5 position. This makes rehearsal or staccato techniques even more accurate.

As if you were really there

Yamaha uses what is known as "binaural sampling. These are samples in a 3D stereo sound, giving the piano sound more 'space' and making it sound more realistically 'real'. These samples are recorded with a very specific microphone that mimics the shape of the head, and ear canals before the sound reaches the microphone membranes. This is placed at the playing position of the piano in question and recorded from there. So you hear the piano as it sounds at the playing position. This makes the CFX binaural samples sound lifelike

Bluetooth and Midi

The CLP-825 features on-board Bluetooth, both Bluetooth MIDI and a Bluetooth audio receiver. So you can connect to a smartphone or tablet, in combination with the Yamaha SmartPianist App. This then allows you to send out MIDI data from the piano, as well as receive it. You can also stream your favorite music to the piano, so you can play along with songs! You don't need any additional accessories for this. The piano has two headphone outputs, ideal if you want to listen to the piano sound together.
