Eve Audio SC3010

The SC3010 is the "smallest" of EVE Audio's Main monitors and is already a true powerhouse of top-end audio. With a bizarre low-end extension of 29Hz, top-end to 21kHz and a 126dB SPL, this is the perfect monitor for larger music and/or film and television post-production studios. Should you wish to use the SC3010 in-wall simply select the "inwall" filter on the DSP and insert the included foams to block the bass port.

The SC3010 systems have a very powerful amplifier array, with one amplifier per driver. All drivers, especially our proprietary AMT RS6 tweeter, are designed to deliver high sound pressure levels, extremely low distortion and optimized directivity. Together with the ultra-rigid plywood faceplate and special internal construction to reduce resonances, they offer smooth directivity, highly defined mids, pristine high frequencies and a powerful and tight low.

The smallest of the largest in EVE's range of main monitors, the SC3010 is capable of reproducing the full audible frequency range with ultra-low distortion levels.

One 10" double-coated low-resonance woofer with metal diaphragm and long excursion provides exceptionally clean reproduction of low frequencies down to 30 Hz (-3 dB) and easily reproduces all audio content, even at higher than usual SPLs.

The SC3010 also features our newly developed 5" midrange unit. The Rohacel™ sandwich diaphragm with fiberglass coating ensures clear and detailed reproduction of midrange frequencies. Both the 10" SilverCone woofer and the 5" SilverCone midrange are equipped with our highly distortion-free copper-capped magnet system.

Exclusive to the SC3010 - and its larger sibling SC3012 - is our large Air Motion Transformer AMT RS6. This AMT is 2.5 times larger than the RS1, RS2 and RS3 Air Motion Transformer units, and it is a crucial part of the system because it helps to couple the mid and high frequencies with great precision. Our team was able to design the RS6 so that the crossover frequency could be set to 1800 Hz, a very important frequency for human hearing and thus for music production.

Judge your mixes more accurately

Each driver has its own separate PWM amplifier capable of delivering a short-term output power of 250 W per tweeter and midrange channel and 800 W for the low-end driver. With a maximum output level of 114 dB (SPL @ 1 m), you will certainly be able to accurately judge your mixes, whatever the final intended output level.

The SC3010 is a three-way system that combines powerful bass reproduction with a very transparent and present midrange and crystal clear high-frequency reproduction. Make no mistake: whether you are producing your new hip-hop hit or mastering contemporary works, the SC3010s are there for you and tell it like it is. Bad mixes no longer have a place to hide.

As with any other EVE Audio speaker, you get both balanced XLR inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs for added convenience.

Understanding the Air Motion Transformer

The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is a unique driver technology that sets it apart from other audio drivers. It uses a lightweight, hand-folded diaphragm that is thinly coated with aluminum. The flow of the music signal passes through these conductive wires.

The diaphragm is placed in a powerful magnetic field that causes the folds to move as a result of the Lorentz force. Due to the opposite direction of the current, the walls of each individual fold work against each other. The air between the folds is forced in and out at a ratio of 1:4, compared to the 1:1 ratio of an ordinary dome tweeter.

This results in higher resolution and dynamics in the tweeter section, along with a very low level of distortion, enabling superior sound quality with enhanced detail and clarity.

Smart Knob

All EVE Audio monitors feature high-resolution DSP electronics. A high-quality analog-to-digital converter from BurrBrown (24bit/192kHz) converts the analog input signal delivered via RCA or XLR. The DSP provides latency-free filtering and protects the tweeter and woofers from overload over the entire frequency range. When the monitor is turned on, the volume increases slowly leaving enough time to lower the source volume if the input signal is too loud.

Adjustments to the acoustic environment can be made via the front rotary/push button, the SMART button with rotating LED ring. This knob can be used to equalize the volume of the system and adjust filters for room variables (low shelf, mid eq and high shelf filters). All settings are displayed on the LED ring, giving you instant information about the selected values. The brightness of the LED ring can be adjusted for dark studios or video applications.

High-quality Class D amplifiers complete the system and provide enough power to meet the demands of modern music production. Selected volume and/or filter settings can be independently locked with DIP switches on the back of the amplifier to prevent unauthorized or inadvertent adjustments.
