EVE Audio's SC4070 is the flagship among studio monitors. With a dynamic range of 32Hz to 25kHz and a 116dB SPL, this monitor offers the cleanest and most defined audio that EVE has to offer.

The SC4070 active studio monitor replaces the SC407, but builds on its predecessor and redefines the expected levels of sonic performance and accuracy for this uncompromising world-class monitoring system. The SC4070 features an advanced tweeter/midrange section and enhances its ability to reproduce low frequencies with two 6.5" woofers connected to a very powerful amplifier array. Dual woofers reduce distortion, even at high SPL, and deliver incredibly tight and homogeneous bass reproduction and a very linear overall response.

Customizable by design

These 4-way monitors are designed symmetrically. The eye-catching central and solid silver aluminum plate is more than just an attractive design feature. The plate not only houses the midrange woofer and AMT tweeter, but is also rotatable so that the monitors can be placed vertically or horizontally. Room adjustment filters and volume control are accessible via the SMART button with LED ring to indicate all settings with extreme precision. A sophisticated cabinet completes the sleek design. The beveled and ultra-rigid faceplate reduces unwanted resonances and diffraction.

The 4-way SC4070 monitoring system features two 6.5" SilverCone woofers with a specially made 1.5" voice coil to extend the bass frequency response to 32Hz. Both woofers operate simultaneously up to 280Hz.

A specially developed 4" SilverCone midrange unit joins these high-performance woofers and gives these speakers greater linear excursion and a clear and precise midrange. The bass and midrange woofers in our SC4070 feature our copper magnet system with very low distortion. The combination of our unique fiberglass-coated diaphragm and a very rigid yet lightweight honeycomb structure reproduces sound with spectacular detail and clarity.

The patented Air Motion Transformer AMT RS3.1 completes the SC4070. The core of these AMT tweeters is a folded diaphragm operating in a powerful magnetic field of a large neodymium magnet. Through design changes such as new materials, improved internal damping construction and a more efficient magnetic field, the SC4070 delivers higher sound pressure levels with virtually no distortion, even at high output levels. This AMT RS3.1 can reproduce a frequency response up to 40 kHz.

Each chassis in the SC4070 is equipped with its own PWM amplifier for a total short-term output power of 1000 W. With a maximum output level of 126 dB (SPL @ 1m, half room, pair), mixes can be accurately judged whatever the intended output level.

Combining perfectly powerful bass with highly transparent mids and crystal clear yet silky smooth high frequencies, the SC4070 is destined to be the perfect piece of work for medium to large control rooms where quality and consistent power delivery are key variables.

As with any other EVE Audio studio monitor, you get both a balanced XLR input and an unbalanced RCA input for added convenience.

Understanding the Air Motion Transformer

The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is a unique driver technology that sets it apart from other audio drivers. It uses a lightweight, hand-folded diaphragm that is thinly coated with aluminum. The flow of the music signal passes through these conductive wires.

The diaphragm is placed in a powerful magnetic field that causes the folds to move as a result of the Lorentz force. Due to the opposite direction of the current, the walls of each individual fold work against each other. The air between the folds is forced in and out at a ratio of 1:4, compared to the 1:1 ratio of an ordinary dome tweeter.

This results in higher resolution and dynamics in the tweeter section, along with a very low level of distortion, enabling superior sound quality with enhanced detail and clarity.

Smart Knob

All EVE Audio monitors feature high-resolution DSP electronics. A high-quality analog-to-digital converter from BurrBrown (24bit/192kHz) converts the analog input signal delivered via RCA or XLR. The DSP provides latency-free filtering and protects the tweeter and woofers from overload over the entire frequency range. When the monitor is turned on, the volume increases slowly leaving enough time to lower the source volume if the input signal is too loud.

Adjustments to the acoustic environment can be made via the front rotary/push button, the SMART button with rotating LED ring. This knob can be used to equalize the volume of the system and adjust filters for room variables (low shelf, mid eq and high shelf filters). All settings are displayed on the LED ring, giving you instant information about the selected values. The brightness of the LED ring can be adjusted for dark studios or video applications.

High-quality Class D amplifiers complete the system and provide enough power to meet the demands of modern music production. Selected volume and/or filter settings can be independently locked with DIP switches on the back of the amplifier to prevent unauthorized or inadvertent adjustments.
