The Yamaha HS5 is an active, 5-inch studio monitor. This compact monitor is the smallest speaker in the HS series, designed to provide neutral reproduction of a mix in home studios and mobile setups. With the Yamaha HS5, 45 watts go to the woofer and 25 to the high driver. The total power output of 70 watts results in more than enough headroom in uncluttered mix setups.
Due to its 5-inch speaker, the HS5 has a bit less sub-bass than the HS7 or HS8. Supplement the HS5 with a Yamaha HS8 S active subwoofer and you have a full-range monitor sound!
