When Korg introduced the first Kronos in 2011, it immediately raised the bar for what a synthesizer workstation could be. With the 2014 Kronos 2, Korg vigorously continued that line - an instrument that found its way onto the stages of top artists like Jordan Rudess and Derek Sherinian. Since then, we are years down the road and technology has not stood still. The Korg Kronos 3 takes advantage of the latest developments to provide a sound quality and user experience that were unthinkable until recently.
The Kronos 3 is a workstation that has everything you need to be the creative heart of your studio or live setup. Now available at Klundert Music!

Ready for the stage, with a choice of three keybed
To suit the preferences of different keyboardists, the Korg Kronos 3 is available with three different keyboards. The 88- and 73-key versions feature the Japan-made RH3 (Real Weighted Hammer Action 3) keyboard: a weighted hammer action particularly well suited to piano playing. The 61-key version features the smooth-playing Natural Touch semi-weighted keyboard with aftertouch. Whichever version you choose, you are guaranteed a flawless playing experience. While the familiar Kronos functionality remains, the design has been subtly and stylishly updated. The metal body is powder-coated for added ruggedness and a high-quality finish, while the black wood side panels add an elegant touch. This new finish makes the Kronos 3 not only strong enough for intensive use on stage, but also a visual statement at any venue.
New standard for workstations
With the first Kronos, Korg set a new standard for keyboard workstations full of modern technology. Each subsequent generation built on this - and the Kronos 3 takes this to another level. Like its predecessors, the Kronos 3 features nine separate sound engines, each based on a unique form of synthesis. As a result, this instrument delivers an enormous collection of sounds: from classic analog sounds to state-of-the-art digital textures. Thanks to the latest developments within these engines, the Kronos 3 sounds even more detailed, powerful and realistic than ever before. Whatever you play - from vintage EPs to cutting-edge synths - everything sounds lifelike and convincing. A new milestone in the world of professional keyboards.
Nine sound engines, endless possibilities
From realistic acoustic instruments to raw analog synths, the Korg Kronos 3's nine different sound engines offer literally everything you need. Each individual engine on its own would be a full-fledged instrument that would appeal to professional keyboardists. But together they form a powerful sound universe, allowing you to summon and combine thousands of sounds into rich, layered soundbeds. It lets you create complete arrangements with complex textures and dynamics, without having to change presets or fall back on pre-programmed backing tracks. This makes the Kronos 3 a powerhouse for musicians who want to get everything out of their sounds. Check out some of the impressive engines here:
- SGX-2 premium piano sound engine
The SGX-2 engine delivers unprecedentedly realistic renderings of German and Japanese grand pianos. Every detail is audible - from the characteristic sound of the strings to the subtle resonances created when you use the sustain pedal. Thanks to advanced modeling of string resonance and natural damping, this piano engine feels and sounds like a real grand piano. Also unique to this engine is the support for the una corda (soft pedal), which lets you shift the entire mechanics of the keyboard, so to speak. This gives you access to an extra layer of timbre rarely found in digital pianos. Even critical pianists will be amazed by the expressive possibilities. - EP-1 MDS electric piano sound engine
Fan of vintage electric pianos? Then the EP-1 engine is right for you. Whether you love the bell-like character of steel tongues or just the percussive tap of hammers on metal bars: Korg's EP-1 brings all these sounds to life. The secret lies in Korg's patented Multi-dimensional Synthesis (MDS) technology, which prevents you from experiencing audible loops or unnatural transitions. As a result, the sound responds smoothly to your attack and playing. The engine includes six different models of electric pianos as well as an extensive selection of amplifiers, speaker cabinets and effects. This allows you to create your ideal vintage EP sound in detail. - CX-3 tonewheel organ sound engine
Of course, realistic electric pianos require classic organ sounds. That's why the Kronos 3 integrates the famous CX-3 tonewheel organ sound generator. Korg's digital organs have had a strong reputation for years, and this engine takes it a big step further. The nine sliders on the top panel easily control the drawbars, instantly evoking the iconic tonewheel sound - from subtle to full overdrive. Add tube amp emulation, vintage effects and realistic rotary speaker modeling, and you're ready for any gospel, rock or jazz song. In addition, this engine simulates in minute detail all the characteristics that give a classical organ its unique sound: percussion, pitch instability, foldback, leakage sounds and other nuances are faithfully modeled. This is not a sample or approximation, but an experience that feels like you are playing with the original. - HD-1 PCM synthesizer sound engine
Korg has decades of experience with PCM-based synthesis, and you can hear it in the HD-1 engine. This successor in the line of legendary models such as the M1 and Triton offers access to a huge range of multisamples, including classics that simply had no place in previous instruments. With modern techniques such as low-aliasing sample playback, high-res filters and improved oscillators, everything sounds brighter, more powerful and dynamic than ever. - MS-20EX analog modeling sound engine
The MS-20 is one of Korg's most iconic analog synths, and with the MS-20EX engine, this classic has been digitally revived. Thanks to Component Modeling Technology (CMT), every circuit, oscillator, filter and patch cord is reproduced with impressive precision.Unlike the original hardware, there are no limits in the Kronos 3. You can even use external audio as an oscillator, allowing for endless sound experiments. From choppy leads to complex modulation structures - the MS-20EX allows you to do anything. - AL-1 analog synthesizer modeling engine
Originating from the renowned OASYS synthesizer, the AL-1 engine delivers a high-fidelity approach to analog synthesis. Think rich waveforms, extensive modulation capabilities, filter morphing and extremely smooth oscillator performance.
The result is an analog sound that goes beyond what true analog hardware can offer - without the limitations of classic circuits. Perfect for warm pads, aggressive leads or complex, evolving sounds. - MOD-7 VPM/FM synthesis sound engine
The MOD-7 engine is a veritable playground for fans of FM synthesis, waveshaping and modular construction. Based on technology from Korg's Prophecy and Z1 synths, this engine combines FM synthesis with PCM crossmodulation and subtractive synthesis.
Whether you want the distinctive "ping" of FM pianos or build abstract, rhythmic soundscapes, the MOD-7 gives you the tools and overview via its touchscreen and physical controls to design your own most complex patches in an accessible way. - STR-1 physical modeling engine
The STR-1 engine does not use samples or traditional synthesis, but physical modeling: an advanced technique that simulates the physical properties of a stringed instrument. As a result, guitars, harps, harpsichords and ethnic instruments sound remarkably realistic, with natural touch and resonance.
The most expressive sounds you'll ever play
How much time do you spend fine-tuning sounds until they fit your playing style? For most keyboard players, the answer is simple: preferably as little as possible. This is exactly why the Korg Kronos 3 is so popular with musicians and producers. As soon as you turn it on and start playing, you notice that the sounds immediately react naturally to your touch, your dynamics and other nuances in your playing. This musical experience is only possible thanks to the powerful synthesis technologies developed specifically for Kronos. One of the keys to this is Korg's Virtual Memory Technology. This gives you high polyphony, unprecedentedly long (non-looped) samples and so-called Smooth Sound Transitions. This allows you to hold a chord or tone while effortlessly changing sounds or modes - ideal for live use and smooth transitions within a composition.
Full-fledged music studio in one workstation
The Kronos 3 is much more than just a top performance keyboard - it is a complete music production studio with 32 tracks. You have access to a powerful 16-track MIDI sequencer as well as 16 tracks for audio recording. This allows you to produce complete tracks without leaving your workstation. Want to get creative? The Kronos provides access to studio-quality effect tracks that rival expensive external effect devices. You can use multiple effects simultaneously, perfect for fine-tuning your mix to a professional end result. Thanks to the Open Sampling System, you not only record new samples, but you can also resample them. This allows you to quickly create unique sounds that are all your own.
Get an instant grip on your sound
Korg is known for its user-friendly workstations, and the Kronos 3 takes that to a new level. The large 8-inch color display with TouchView technology makes navigation intuitive and clear. You instantly get the right parameters for each context, without complicated menus or searching. Knobs, dials and sliders give you full control over your sound and mix. Ideal for live situations and studio work. And with the touch-sensitive ribbon controller and the familiar vector joystick you add extra expression to your playing. In addition, Korg's latest KARMA technology is integrated, allowing you to build realistic and dynamic accompaniments without having to make many adjustments - ideal for spontaneous inspiration or live performance.
The ultimate instrument for musical expression
Are you a professional keyboardist or aspiring to be one? The Korg Kronos 3 is the absolute top instrument for musical expression, both live and in the studio. With its intuitive control panel, access to over 300 professional sound libraries and a range of exclusive features, this workstation sets a new standard in its class.
