Neumann KK 104 U BK

The Neumann KK 104 U BK is a condenser, kidney (cardioid) microphone head. The capsule has the same acoustic properties as the wired KMS series vocal microphone. You can easily mount this loose microphone head on a wireless handheld transmitter.

With this head you get the legendary, professional Neumann condenser studio sound on your wireless handheld microphone! The KK 104 U BK has a nice flat frequency response compared to other microphones and an open, crisp top end. The KK 104 U is optimized for close miking; a fixed low-cut filter compensates for the proximity effect and provides clear bass even when the singer's lips touch the microphone.

By default, a handheld transmitter does not always come with a microphone head. This system allows you to choose and order the right microphone head yourself. And now you can even put these Neumann heads on third-party handhelds. The 104 U is compatible with handhelds from Sony and Lectrosonics (all models), Mipro ACT, Shure (all models except BLX and GLX-D)

Flexibility

What is also convenient about an interchangeable capsule is that you can change microphone heads if there is a specific application where you need a different head. So on a handheld transmitter, you can use different microphone heads. On a small stage a dynamic microphone can sometimes work better than e.g. a sensitive condenser microphone. Or maybe you prefer to use a microphone with a kidney characteristic (e.g. for a presentation). And in another application you prefer to switch to a super-nier (e.g. if you suffer from crosstalk on a stage with a lot of monitor noise). The interchangeable capsule system thus allows you to choose between capsules with different sensitivity levels and polarity patterns.
