D'angelico Excel SS Vintage Natural

The guitars of D'angelico are inspiring in every way. In the first place they are beautiful to look at, but next to that D'Angelico guitars live up to all expectations with regard to sound and build quality.
The New York based guitar company has a rich history and is famous for their iconic jazz boxes. However, the current collection of D'angelico offers a wide collection of cool solid body, ES-style and off-set guitars as well.

The Excel SS is D'angelico's own interpretation of the well-known center-block hollowbody recipe; with a 15" wide single cut body and its refined look, the SS exudes class and style. Its body is more compact than that of a traditional ES335, but a bit larger than that of an ES339 and in combination with the woods used, the SS takes up its own, nuanced place in the sound spectrum among the other D'angelico models.

The laminated maple body has a flamed maple side and back and a spruce top. The maple set neck features an ebony fingerboard with 16" radius. The tuners are Grover Imperial's and the guitar has a scale of 24.75". The pickups are a set of 59's from Seymour Duncan with coil splits on the tone pots.
This Deluxe Vintage Natural amber tone is simply stunning; elegant and tasteful and a finish you don't see often. The combination with gold hardware and the refined details of the custom made D'angelico hardware is just spot-on.
