Korg Nu:Tekt NTS-2

The Korg NTS-2 is a must-have for the do-it-yourself sound designer. The NTS-2 comes as a kit. There is a special instructional video on YouTube (and at the bottom of this text) that allows you to assemble this device step-by-step.

Sound designers often do their work by ear, but it is easy if you can see the sound waves. You can even use an oscilloscope, such as this device, to see the serrations of several synths and compare them with each other.

The oscilloscope is not the only function this wonderful little device contains but it is the main one. The oscilloscope is four-channel, which allows you to study multiple signals simultaneously. For example, for multiple synths simultaneously or a stereo signal split between two inputs.

It also includes a spectrum display which is useful for seeing the sawtooth as an overtone series. The fourth function allows you to generate two waveforms with two oscillators. Those signals can be used in the audio range as a simple sound source, but you can also use them as a CV signal, for example as an LFO in a Eurorack wall. And as icing on the cake, there is also a tuner in this device!
