The Neumann KK 204 NI is a condenser, cardioid microphone head in nickel colour. The capsule has the same acoustic properties as the wired KMS series vocal microphone. This separate microphone head can be easily mounted on a wireless handheld transmitter.
With this head, you get the legendary, professional Neumann condenser studio sound on your wireless handheld microphone! The KK 204 has a nice flat frequency response compared to other microphones and an open, fresh top end. The KK 204 is optimized for close miking; a fixed low-cut filter compensates for the proximity effect and ensures clear bass, even when the singer's lips touch the microphone.
By default, a handheld transmitter is not always supplied with a microphone head. With this system you can choose and order the right microphone head yourself The Neumann KK capsules are only compatible with the SKM 300/500 G4, EW-D and SKM 2000/6000/9000 wireless handheld transmitters (sold separately). The capsule is easy to install.
What is also handy about an exchangeable capsule is that you can change the microphone head when there is a specific application that needs another head. So on a handheld transmitter you can use different microphone heads. On a small stage a dynamic microphone can sometimes work better than for example a sensitive condenser microphone. Or perhaps you prefer to use a microphone with a kidney characteristic (eg at a presentation). And for another application, you may prefer to switch to a super-kidney (e.g. if you suffer from crosstalk on a stage with a lot of monitor noise). The interchangeable capsule system thus allows you to choose between capsules with different levels of sensitivity and polarity patterns.
