Tascam MM-2D-E

The Tascam MM-2D-E is a compact analog input/output Dante converter. You can convert two microphone/line inputs to two Dante outputs and use two Dante inputs for two line outputs. In addition, this unit also supports four-channel Dante inputs and outputs, so virtually any audio source can be easily incorporated into an existing Dante system. Although the MM-2D physically has 2 inputs and 2 outputs, it is internally configurable via Dante as a 4×4 Dante unit. That means:

• you can send and receive up to 4 Dante audio channels over the network.
• the DSP functions (such as EQ, ducking and compression) can also be applied to these channels.
• so you can even route Dante audio without the device physically processing audio - useful for network management or signal duplication.

This converter is available in two variants: the MM-2D-E with Euroblock connectors and the MM-2D-X with XLR connectors for the analog inputs and outputs. This is the version with Euroblack connections. Useful for fixed installation.

An important advantage of this series is the built-in DSP processor. This gives you mix functions, equalization, dynamic processing, automatic volume control, auto-ducking, routing and noise reduction. This makes it possible to set up a fully functioning audio system with minimal setup - from microphone input to output to active speakers or recording devices, without the need for additional peripherals.

Operation and configuration are easy via two free software tools available for Mac, Windows, iOS and Android:

• Tascam EZ Connect for end users

It is also possible to mute the inputs and adjust the output level via GPI control. The MM-2D runs on Power over Ethernet (PoE) or via an optional AC adapter. If you place two units side by side in a rack, you can power them via power daisy-chaining using only one adapter.
