Austrian Audio OC-B6

The OC-B6 is the world's first large-diaphragm condenser microphone developed specifically for bass drum. Handcrafted in Vienna, this microphone is designed to capture the full impact of your kick with clarity, definition and a natural sound.

The OC-B6 is based on the Austrian Audio CKR6-B capsule and can handle extremely high sound pressure levels of over 170 dB SPL. This keeps the reproduction clean and unfiltered, giving engineers complete freedom to further shape the sound: from a warm, classic kick to a modern, tight attack.

Thanks to the 220° swivel microphone head and very compact design, positioning is easy, even in tight studio or stage setups. The rugged construction ensures that the OC-B6 continues to perform reliably, even under heavy use.

The OC-B6 delivers consistent, high-quality results in all common bass drum placements. Unlike many other kick microphones, sound balance is maintained whether the microphone is placed outside the drum, directly at the port hole or deep inside the kettle. This allows quick switching between different musical styles, stages and studio situations without changing microphones.

Austrian Audio CKR6-B capsule
The OC-B6 is equipped with the 1-inch diameter CKR6-B large-diaphragm condenser capsule. This capsule is specially tuned for extremely high sound pressure levels and has an enlarged distance between diaphragm and backplate for maximum stability. The capsule uses a patented Austrian Audio insulator made of ceramic and is manufactured entirely by hand in Vienna.
