The SC205 is the second studio monitor in the EVE Audio line. This 5" monitor has an impressive 53Hz to 21kHz frequency range. And with 100w output and 101 dB SPL rating, despite its small size, this is definitely not a little guy. With EVE Audio's patented AMT tweeter you get an unprecedentedly honest and detailed reproduction, and with the internal DSP the SC205 can still be tuned to your needs....

The SC205 uses our 5" SilverCone woofer for extended bass response. This highly rigid diaphragm has a honeycomb structure and a fiberglass coating. As in other models, such as the smaller SC204, the SC205 is driven by an advanced low-distortion copper magnet system that uses a 1" voice coil responsible for delivering greater linear excursion. All in all, this delivers a wider dynamic range than you would expect from a speaker of these proportions. The result is unsurpassed audio transparency that, combined with our proprietary AMT tweeter and PWM amplifier, will surprise you with a very powerful and precise low end.

The Air Motion Transformer

The AMT tweeter is EVE's own patented technology that follows the rule of no off-the-shelf components to achieve superior results. The accuracy and detail of the high frequency range of EVE monitors, combined with the overall tightness of the bass and midrange, make the SC204 an excellent speaker that can easily be used on the go (thanks to its smaller size) or as a second pair of speakers alongside your main setup.

Understanding the Air Motion Transformer

The Air Motion Transformer (AMT) is a unique driver technology that sets it apart from other audio drivers. It uses a lightweight, hand-folded diaphragm that is thinly coated with aluminum. The flow of the music signal passes through these conductive wires.

The diaphragm is placed in a powerful magnetic field that causes the folds to move as a result of the Lorentz force. Due to the opposite direction of the current, the walls of each individual fold work against each other. The air between the folds is forced in and out at a ratio of 1:4, compared to the 1:1 ratio of an ordinary dome tweeter.

This results in higher resolution and dynamics in the tweeter section, along with very low distortion levels, enabling superior sound quality with enhanced detail and clarity.

The Smart Knob

The smart knob on the front panel of the monitor controls both the volume and the internal DSP. Turn the knob and it turns up the monitor's volume. Press the knob and you get control over high and mid frequencies, a desk setting that takes away level around 200 Hz and round 90 Hz boost to compensate for desk reflections and a low-shelf to boost or take away. The LEDs can also be turned off here if you don't like it.
