V51 Sound Module - professional sounds and endless possibilities
The heart of the TD-516 is the V51 module, equipped with the same sound source as Roland's flagship V71. The module contains hundreds of multilayer samples of acoustic drums, percussion and electronic kits, and provides access to the extensive DW Soundworks virtual instrument. This software allows you to use your kit's sounds directly in your DAW or as a VST instrument - ideal for studio or hybrid setups. The V51 has a bright color display and an intuitive menu structure that lets you quickly customize kits, call up new presets or dive deep into sound editing. Thanks to the extensive V-Edit tools, you can adjust every nuance: tuning, mute, microphone position, ambience and effect routing - everything is fully adjustable.

Always up-to-date with Roland Cloud Connect
With built-in Wi-Fi functionality and the Roland Cloud Connect app, you can download new sounds, samples or kits directly from your smartphone or tablet, without the need for a computer. The TD-516 comes with a 6-month Roland Cloud Ultimate membership, giving you access to the full library of Roland sounds, including legendary synthesizers, drum machines and exclusive artist kits. The V51 Editor software is free to download from Roland Cloud and allows you to edit your sounds visually on a large screen with mouse control. Changes are instantly synced to the module, so you can switch between computer and hardware effortlessly.

Import and record your own samples via USB-C
The V51 lets you import your own WAV samples via SD card (SDHC, sold separately). This lets you add unique sounds or create your own custom kit. The module supports full audio loops and individual percussion sounds. For home recording or production work, the V51 is also ideal: a single USB-C cable sends multichannel audio directly to your DAW for crystal-clear, noise-free recordings. In addition, the module functions as a MIDI interface to control virtual instruments or record MIDI data. For live situations, the module features stereo outputs (L/R) and direct outs for individual pad routing, allowing FOH mixers to maintain maximum control over the sound.

Practice with precision - Coach Mode and training features
The TD-516 helps you grow as a drummer. The built-in Coach Mode lets you work on timing, dynamics and endurance. Classic training programs like Time Check and Quiet Count are complemented by three new features:

• Phrase Trainer - analyzes your timing and helps master complex patterns.
• Stroke Monitor - shows the strength and consistency of your strokes.
• Blast Beat Builder - trains speed and control for fast-paced metal or punk drum styles.

With these tools, you will purposefully improve your playing, whether you are a beginner or playing at a professional level.

Bluetooth functionality and Mix In connection
The built-in Bluetooth audio and MIDI connection makes it easy to stream music wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet, so you can play along with your favorite songs or backing tracks. Prefer to work wired? Then simply connect an external player via the 6.35 mm Mix In jack.

Pads and cymbal - Realistic playing feel in every detail

CY-18DR Digital Ride (18-inch): theCY-18DR is Roland's most advanced ride cymbal to date. Its 18-inch diameter and natural swing give a true acoustic feel. Thanks to multiple sensors across the playing surface, edge, bow and bell respond seamlessly to each other. Multi-touch technology allows not only manual chokes, but also subtle damping with the fingers - perfect for expressive playing.

VH-14D Digital Hi-Hat (14 inches): thistwo-piece hi-hat is a highlight within the TD-516 package. With realistic open/closed detection, foot splashes and multi-sensor technology, the VH-14D tracks every nuance of your attack. The sound, playing response and feel are stunningly close to a traditional bronze hi-hat.

PD-140DS Digital Snare (14-inch): the14-inch snare has eight sensors distributed over the playing surface and rim, accurately recording every nuance - from ghost note to rimshot. The 3-layer mesh head with 8-lug tension offers an adjustable playing feel that is as responsive as an acoustic snare.

KD-12 Kick Pad: TheKD-12 is a solid kick with a responsive playing surface that simulates the feel of a real bass drum. Its sturdy construction prevents sliding while playing, while the pad can accommodate both single and dual pedals.

PD-P Premium Toms (2x 10", 1x 12"): these Premium Series toms pads feature a multi-zone design, making both head and rim beats sound realistic. The die-cast rims and chrome finish give the set an authentic acoustic look.

CY-12C-T and CY-14R-T Crash Cymbals: the redesigned thin cymbals offer improved response and dynamics. Both models have a dual-trigger system (bow and edge) and a realistic choke function: just grab the edge, just like a real cymbal.

Expandable setup
The V51 module offers plenty of growth options. In addition to the standard connections, it features four additional analog trigger inputs and three digital inputs for future expansion. Easily add additional pads or triggers and expand your kit as you play or produce.
