Imagine a modern, rich drum recording, and you’ll have an idea of how this DW set sounds acoustically. What’s more, a Performance kit is really right up there with DW’s flagship, custom-built Collector’s series. The main differences are the Performance’s limited configuration and color options, as well as a lighter lug design. Oh, and of course, the price (about half). So the Performance is a very high-quality kit at a mid-range price. Please note: this is a shell pack consisting of a 22"x18" kick drum, 10"x8" and 12"x9" toms, and a 16"x16" floor tom—so it does not include a snare drum, stands, or tom hangers. North American maple shells
All Performance Series shells are built using DW’s patented HVX technology, which features 100% maple plies with grain oriented in horizontal, vertical, and diagonal patterns for low, punchy fundamentals. HVX shells are precision-cut with 45-degree (toms) and 60-degree (bass and snare) bearing edges. These edges provide the tone and sustain of your toms, and the depth and punch of your bass drum and snare.
