The EKX-12P is an active two-way loudspeaker equipped with a high-efficiency Class D amplifier and a premium QuickSmartDSP. The amplifier delivers up to 132 dB SPL via high-sensitivity transducers developed by Electro-Voice itself. Furthermore, we find the well-known single-knob user interface that Electro-Voice seems to have patented and a convenient LCD screen for menu navigation on the rear panel of the speaker. The speaker is equipped with a variable-speed fan that is controlled by internal sensors so that the speaker performs optimally no matter what environment it is in.
Design
The speaker's enclosure is made of lightweight 15 mm thick plywood and finished with a durable EVCoat coating. Eight M10 mounting points are provided on the speaker. The bottom is equipped with a tripod flange for use as a top cabinet and on the sides are two sturdy metal handles for transport.
About the EKX Series
The EKX series is the latest addition to Electro-Voice's loudspeaker lineup. The speakers combine legendary EV audio quality with the reliability of the latest technologies. All this in a compact enclosure suitable for a wide range of applications such as DJ use, live bands or as a fixed sound system. The EKX series is positioned above the ZLX and ELX and just below the ETX series.
