The Bourgeois Touchstone series, a collection of hand-built guitars designed by icon, Dana Bourgeois. These guitars are crafted with Bourgeois' signature attention to detail, bringing his legendary sound and craftsmanship to more players than ever before.
Drawing on his half-century of experience as a luthier, Dana and his team carefully select Alaskan Sitka Spruce for the tops and Adirondack Spruce for the bracings, deep from the northern woods of Maine.
The Touchstone series is a very close collaboration between Bourgeois Guitars and Eastman Music Company. After the Touchstone tops are prepared by Dana, they are vacuum sealed and shipped to Eastman's workshop, where a select group of Eastman's luthiers -carefully trained by Dana Bourgeois himself in tonal philosophy and construction methodology- integrate the tops into Dana's designs and bring each guitar to life. The guitar is then shipped back to Bourgeois in Lewiston, Maine for the final check and adjustments.
The collaboration of Bourgeois and Eastman is proving to be a brilliant move. The result is the ultimate blend of exceptional quality at an exceptional price. The Touchstone guitars can rightly be called true high-end-player guitars and leave many of the established players perhaps very far behind.
The Standard LDB
The Bourgeois Touchstone Standard LDB is a compact guitar with a 00 body shape that blends the charm of vintage American guitar craftsmanship with the modern precision we’ve come to expect from Dana Bourgeois.
Crafted with a carefully selected combination of mahogany back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, enhanced by sculpted Adirondack X-bracing, this instrument delivers a warm, balanced tone with surprising volume and projection for its size.
The elegant sunburst finish adds to its vintage appeal, while refined touches like ivoroid binding, multi-colored purfling, and a striking firestripe pickguard contribute to its sophisticated aesthetic. The mahogany neck with a comfortable V-profile, paired with a Ziricote fingerboard and bridge, offers a smooth playing experience and excellent intonation across the full 25-inch scale length.
This tonewood selection not only looks stunning, but also contributes to a rich, overtone-filled sound with sensitive dynamic response—perfect for fingerstyle players. Built in Lewiston, Maine, this model benefits from Bourgeois’ advanced torrefaction process, which artificially ages the top for the tone and feel of a well-played, boutique-quality instrument.
Equipped with Schaller GrandTune tuners featuring ivoroid buttons, the guitar offers excellent tuning stability and reinforces its vintage character. Whether you prefer fingerpicking, flatpicking, or strumming, this Bourgeois surprises with its versatility and tonal depth. And like all great guitars, it will only sound better with age.
The guitar comes with hard case and certificate.
