D'angelico Excel Mini DC Black

The New York luthier has a rich history and is famous for their iconic jazz bodies. However, D'angelico's current collection also includes solidbodies and semi-hollowbodies.

The Excell Mini DC is D'angelico's top-of-the-line double cut, 14" center block / semi-hollowbody. In other words; an ES type following a classic recipe, but very well done. ES-339 to be exact, so a relatively small-size for a hollowbody.

The versatility of such guitars never ceases to amaze us. And that certainly applies to the Excel Mini DC, with which you can tackle basically any genre without feeling like "neither meat nor fish". On the contrary; with this DC you lay a very solid foundation of guitar sound in any situation that is actually just different from all other traditional and iconic guitar models.
Regarding the regular DC, this Mini DC is just a bit brighter and pointier; simply, its body is comparatively more solid, less hollow. The body is laminated maple with a laminated maple top. The maple set neck has an ebony fingerboard with 16" radius, Grover Super Rotomatic tuners and the guitar has a 24.75" radius. The pickups are a 59 set from Seymour Duncan with coil splits on the tone pots. The tough Black Dog finish with gold hardware is a perfect match for the sophisticated look that D'angelico carries!
