The New York luthier has a rich history and is famous for their iconic jazz bodies. However, D'angelico's current collection also includes solidbodies and semi-hollowbodies.

The Premier Mini DC is D'angelico's entry-level double cut, center block / semi-hollowbody. In other words; an ES type following a classic recipe, but very well done. ES-339 to be exact, so a relatively small-size for a hollowbody.
The Premier series is really an awesome introduction (understatement) to such guitars whose versatility never ceases to amaze us. And that certainly applies to the Premier Mini DC, with which you can handle basically any genre without feeling like "neither meat nor fish." On the contrary; with this DC you lay a very solid foundation of guitar sound in any situation that is actually just different from all other traditional and iconic guitar models. The Premier series are therefore also very suitable for the seasoned guitarist who already has a nice collection, but simply wants a "flavor" to it.
Compared to the regular DC, this Mini DC is just a bit brighter and pointier; simply its body is proportionately more solid. The body is laminated maple with a spruce top. The maple set neck has a 16" radius ovangkol fingerboard, Grover Super Rotomatic tuners and the guitar has a 24.75" radius. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Design humbuckers.
