D'angelico Excel SS XT Vintage Natural Quilt

D'angelico guitars are inspiring in every way. First of all, they are beautiful to look at, but aside from all that outward show, D'angelico more than lives up to all expectations in terms of sound and quality!
The New York guitar maker has a rich history and is famous for their iconic jazz boxes. However, D'angelico's current collection also offers a wide range of solidbodies and semi-hollowbodies.

The Excel SS is D'angelico's own interpretation of the well-known center-block hollowbody recipe; with a 15" wide single cut body and its refined look, the SS exudes class and style. Its body is more compact than that of a traditional ES335, but again a bit larger than that of an ES339.

For 2023, there is this beautiful Excel variant of the SS whose stunning Quilted Maple top immediately catches the eye; what a beauty! This Excel has a laminated body, maple sides and back, and a maple top. The maple set neck features a rosewood fingerboard with 16" radius. The back of the traditional headstock has a beautiful black Stinger style finish. And then there's the gold hardware; it pairs beautifully with the amber color. The tuners are classic Grover 150 Imperials and the guitar has a scale of 25". The stoptail adds to the resonance of this guitar. To finish it off, a set of punchy USA Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker pickups are fitted. Both tone-knobs have a 'push/pull'-function to split the humbucker into a single coil.
