This is a pre-order listing. We expect to receive this bass in limited quantities in July 2026. First come first serve.
Based on mighty riffs from guitarist Aaron Marshall and the bass guitar manoeuvres of Jacob Umansky, Canadian progressive metal band Intervals remain among the hardest-hitting around. Designed as a mass-appeal version of Jacob Umansky’s Custom Shop Z, the ‘Sol’ Signature model retains a host of premium Dingwall features. It’s not just for shredders either, with a pickup configuration that makes it far more versatile than you might think. Available as a part of the Ready To Play line in both 5- and 6-string models.
The alder body has a bookmatched ash top and takes its lead from Umansky’s existing Dingwall Z3, albeit with a modified body outline that’s been specially shaped to his own specification. The controls have also been repositioned, making fast-paced slap techniques easier to deliver. The matte white and black ceruse finish completes the look. The bolt-on neck features a unique profile that has to be felt to be believed. Constructed from hard rock maple, it is designed to be more robust for Jacob’s rapid-fire bass technique and is reinforced with carbon fibre to help minimise unwanted neck movement.
The multi-scale wenge fingerboard keeps the bottom end tight and the top end clear, while also improving intonation and overall playing comfort. With a Darkglass Tone Capsule wired to three Dingwall FDV pickups, the Sol Signature can perform heavy rock of all eras. The switching is thoroughly modern, featuring a push/pull active passive switch, a 4-position rotary pickup selector and a 3-band active EQ, delivering enough firepower to add serious weight to any bass riff.
Thanks to the Graphtech nut and lightweight open-gear Hipshot tuners, maximum resonance at lower tunings is assured, along with dependable tuning stability. This is complemented by the Dingwall minimalist bridge, which provides rock-solid performance without the need for constant intonation adjustment.
Extra details include a recessed jack socket and an easily removable magnetic plate covering the battery cavity. Umansky’s aggressive riffs and progressive bass work with Canadian metal band Intervals place extreme demands on his gear. The Dingwall Sol Signature rises to the challenge, standing as a masterclass in everything that defines cutting-edge bass design.
