The John Taylor signature is part of Dingwall's "Ready to Play" signature collection. That means that these basses are partially manufactured in China (like the Combustion and D-roc collection) and finished by Dingwall in Canada.
However, this signature is far from standard. It is built to the highest Dingwall standards and with the best parts and woods imaginable for this price. It has a Nyatoh body (mahogany family), a 5-piece maple neck and fingerboard with custom 12th fret inlay.
It has the Dingwall custom shop multiscale bridge (scale ranges from 34" to 37"). Also a first on a Ready to Play bass is the state-of-the-art Rupert Neve preamp. This preamp is a newly introduced option for Dingwall's Custom Shop program, but for this occasion - since the Rio album was recorded on a Neve console - it couldn't be missing on this John Tayler bass. The preamp can be turned on and off.
Includes deluxe Dingwall gig bag.

Dingwall John Taylor
The John Taylor model combines a lightweight Nyatoh body with three neodymium pickups and an onboard preamp designed and configured in collaboration with Rupert Neve Designs. Like the limited edition Rio Dream Bass, the JT Signature has also been configured to the Duran Duran bassist’s own personal specifications. “It all started when I was in Toronto about six years ago,” said Taylor. “A friend showed me a Dingwall bass on his phone. I loved how it looked and immediately said to my tech, ‘You’ve got to reach out to these guys!’”
