The Vic Firth 5AB is the black (B stands for Black) version of the familiar 5A stick. The lacquer is a dry and smooth finish.
Vic Firth drumstick pair with teardrop tip from the American Classic Hickory Series and by far the most common and most sold stick on the market. The 5A can also be seen as "the average" in terms of design and sizing and is for that reason often a reference and starting point to designate other types of sticks.
