The Vic Firth 2B from the American Classic Hickory Series is one of the most "heavy" sticks in the collection and has nylon tips. Compared to the common 5A size, 2Bs are a lot thicker and also longer. This makes them suitable for the drummer who wants to hit the drums heavy and hard, but also for the marching / band percussionist who likes to play with a traditional grip. And in that respect, the 2B is kind of an extension of the SD-sticks from Vic Firth's American Custom line with the essential difference that 2Bs are made of hickory instead of maple.
Hickory is a hard, strong type of wood and therefore very suitable material for a drumstick in the broad sense and application. Nylon tips provide articulate, bright cymbal sounds.
