Vic Firth drumstick pair with specific arrow tip from the American Custom Maple Series. This tip allows you to play with a large surface of the tip as well as the tip with a traditional playing grip.
Compared to hickory sticks, maple sticks are a bit lighter in weight (lower density) which provides a refined playability, bounce and balance. In addition, maple has a different "wear behavior"; due to its structure, the wood has the property of "chipping" or splintering and usually breaks less quickly along the entire length of the stick.
SD11 "Slammer" are relatively thick and long sticks (similar to 2B) and have the following specifications:
