The Bourgeois Touchstone series, a collection of hand-built guitars designed by icon, Dana Bourgeois. These guitars are crafted with Bourgeois' signature attention to detail, bringing his legendary sound and craftsmanship to more players than ever before.
Drawing on his half-century of experience as a luthier, Dana and his team carefully select Alaskan Sitka Spruce for the tops and Adirondack Spruce for the bracings, deep from the northern woods of Maine.
The Touchstone series is a very close collaboration between Bourgeois Guitars and Eastman Music Company. After the Touchstone tops are prepared by Dana, they are vacuum sealed and shipped to Eastman's workshop, where a select group of Eastman's luthiers -carefully trained by Dana Bourgeois himself in tonal philosophy and construction methodology- integrate the tops into Dana's designs and bring each guitar to life. The whole thing is then shipped back to Bourgeois in Lewiston, Maine for the final check and tuning.
The Bourgeois and Eastman collaboration proves to be a brilliant move. The result is the ultimate blend of exceptional quality at an exceptional price. The Touchstone guitars can rightly be called true high-end player guitars and may leave the established order very far behind.

The Standard Slope D
The Touchstone The Standard Slope D takes you back to the classic era of American guitar making, but with a modern twist that is characteristic of Dana Bourgeois' vision. The combination of a mahogany back and sides with a Sitka spruce top and scalloped X-bracing creates a warm, well-balanced sound with more than enough volume and projection befitting a guitar of this size.
The elegant sunburst finish adds to the vintage look, while stylish elements such as ivoroid binding, multi-colored purfling and a striking firestripe pickguard provide a refined finish. The mahogany neck with a comfortable V-profile combined with the Ziricote fingerboard and bridge offers a smooth playing experience and accurate intonation over the full 25-inch scale.
This choice of wood is not only visually appealing, but also contributes to a rich tone with plenty of overtones and sensitive dynamics; ideal for fingerstyle players. The top of the guitar is built in Lewiston, Maine, using Bourgeois' advanced torrefaction process to artificially age the top, resulting in the sound and response of a high-end boutique instrument.
The Schaller GrandTune tuning machines with ivoroid knobs ensure stable tuning and enhance the classic character of the guitar. Whether you enjoy fingerpicking, flatpicking or strumming, this Bourgeois offers a surprising amount of tonal possibilities and character. And as with the best guitars, its sound only gets richer with time.
The guitar comes complete with hard case and certificate.
