All E Series / Traditional Series by Eastman are based on the iconic western guitars of the "pre-war golden-era". Thus, within this series you will find only the traditional body shapes such as dreadnoughts, OMs, OOOs, without cut-away and without pickups. The E8D has a solid sitka spruce top, solid rosewood sides and back, 3-piece mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and hand-carved scalloped X-bracing; a mix of hi-end specifications that results in a very fine balance of boomy low-end and crystal clear top-end. The ingredient package for the ultimate flatpickers' guitar. And indeed; the E8D is (not only!!) specification-wise very similar to the iconic D28 and is therefore for us the ultimate "bang for a buck"!
All E8 series guitars are only available in the TC / "Thermo Cured" version. Eastman's Thermo Cured guitars have a heat-dried top which makes the guitar sound significantly more resonant and dynamic than a non-thermo cured version. In addition, this treatment gives the guitar a beautiful antique look!
