All E-Series / Traditional Series from Eastman are based on the iconic western guitars of the "pre-war golden-era". Thus, within this series you will find only the traditional body shapes like dreadnoughts, OM's, OOO's and OO's, without cut-away and without pickups. This E6SS Slope Shoulder Dreanought is the ultimate "center-piece" of the traditional collection with its beautiful and professional specs at a great price.
The body is completely solid; sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and hand carved scalloped X-bracing; a mix of hi-end specs that results in a fine balance of an amazing mid projection (great for fingerstyle) as well as a fat low-end and fresh top-high (great for flatpicking). On top of that we are dealing with the Thermo Cured variant of the E6SS (therefore; E6SS/TC).
Thermo Cured guitars have a heat-dried top which makes the guitar sound significantly more resonant and dynamic than the regular, non Thermo Cured variant. In addition, this treatment gives the guitar a beautiful antique look! The price difference may seem large between the two variants, but believe us; the TC is well worth it!
