The Yamaha L16 series exemplifies the great craftsmanship and design of Yamaha guitars. A modern sound, with a very neat traditional look and very smooth playability. The Engelmann spruce top and rosewood sides and back offer the perfect balance in a full warm sound along with sparkling highs, and the mahogany and rosewood composite neck gives an extraordinary amount of sustain and stability.

The L16 series also enjoys the A.R.E. treatment by which the wood is strategically heated and dried. By regulating temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, the wood is "aged" as it were. This gives the same effect as storing and playing the instrument for years. So a new L16 sounds like that guitar that is already 20 years old.

SRT Zero Impact Pickups
The SRT Zero Impact Pickup system is a newly developed passive pickup configuration designed to minimize the impact of the pickup on the tone and traditional appearance of the instrument. The system uses individual piezoelectric elements for each string to faithfully reproduce the dynamic sound of the L Series and give the instrument an excellent sound when playing in a band.*L56,36,26 do not have this Pickup.
