The iD48 is Audients 24 in and 32 out professional level audio interface. Of course, the iD48 has 8x Audients console pre-amps for super powerful and clean reproduction of your audio with more than enough gain for every mic. The character of Audient is a super clean and neutral reproduction with a small analogue edge for that extra bit of gravy. Perfect and very versatile.
As we know by now from the iD series is that we get inserts on the pre-amps. This takes the iD48 to a new level because we can easily add our nice analog gear to the signal during tracking or in post as an insert. This combined with the 2 ADAT in and out to add for example the ASP 880 and/or the ASP 800 pre-amp strips and get up to 24 channels. More than enough to record acoustic drums or small band settings.

The iD48 uses 32-bit ESS DAC converter technology to minimize quality loss and maximize performance during conversion, so your audio sounds cleaner, clearer and more precise than ever. And with 126.5 dB dynamic range, you'll hear subtle details better and identify problematic issues faster, making it easy to get release-ready results.
Pre
Sound better than ever with the Audient Console Mic Preamp. With 68dB of gain, ultra-low noise and low distortion with a touch of classic analog warmth. iD48's eight Audient Console Mic Preamps ensure that you record a clean, accurate and faithful translation of your audio. That's the same all-analog and discrete circuit design for mic preamps as in our acclaimed recording console, the ASP8024-HE. No emulations, no copies, just real analog console mic preamps on your desktop.
ADAT
Make short work of the most demanding sessions and get your studio ready for the future with iD48's optical input and output connections. With the iD48 supporting both ADAT and SPDIF, you can expand your I/O by adding up to 16 channels of external mic preamps to your setup.
Inserts
The iD48 uses Dsub connections and offers eight fully balanced inserts, allowing you to integrate your favorite external FX before conversion. Perfect for voice mixes and print-backs.
And for the first time, the iD48's switchable insert routing lets you choose which source feeds the ADC path. So you can choose per channel whether to send the Audient Mic Preamp or a DAW output to your outboard, without having to connect or disconnect cables.

Audient iD14 MkII Feature Overview
