DW Collector's Pure Walnut To Quick Ebony Burst 6 piece

For the first time, DW Drums welcomes Pure Walnut to its line of premium drum kits. Thanks to VLT (Vertical Low Timbre) shell technology, these drums sound full and musical, with a slightly shorter reverb. Pure Walnut shells are perfect for drummers seeking a distinctive sound of their own, both for live performances and recordings. Each Pure Walnut shell is handcrafted in the Custom Shop in California, finished with hand-applied coatings and equipped with DW's clever hardware, such as Suspended Tom Mounts (STM), True Hoops and more. This kit includes a 16″x22″ bass drum, 7″x10″ and 8″x12″ mounted toms, 13″x14″ and 15″x16″ floor toms, and a 20 lug 7″x14″ snare drum.

Pure Walnut shells with VLT construction 
10" - 24" Pure Walnut drums have a 9-layer VLT shell and Pure Walnut snare drums have a 12-layer VLT shell. Carrier edges are 45 degrees on toms and 60 degrees on snares and bass drums. VLT shells have layers that run vertically, rather than in the traditional horizontal configuration. The vertical grain reduces tension on a shell, allowing it to vibrate more freely for a lower fundamental tone.
