Our product experts are happy to help you!
The Sonnect SoundWire is an interface (D/A converter) from USB-C to 2x XLR. This professional solution streams your audio with 192 kHz / 32-bit from your playback device to e.g. a mixing console. With this you bypass DI boxes and you are protected from 48V phantom power. The SoundWire offers very high-quality sound, robust construction and direct plug-and-play operation - without installing drivers. So it's an ideal way to get your audio from a laptop, smartphone or tablet to an analog connection.
Pristine sound quality
The high-quality DAC hidden inside the USB-C enclosure delivers studio-quality audio: 192 kHz at 32-bit resolution. Simply plug in your laptop, smartphone or tablet and select "SoundWire" as the playback device. No hassle with drivers or settings - instantly ready to use.
ISO-XLRâ„¢ outputs
The balanced XLR outputs feature specially developed audio transparent isolation transformers integrated into original Neutrik XLR connectors. These transformers provide perfect signal balancing and galvanic isolation, giving your equipment optimal protection against phantom power and other voltage problems - without affecting sound quality.

Protection against 48V phantom power
Thanks to built-in ISO-XLRâ„¢ isolation, your setup is fully protected against 48V phantom power. So you can connect directly to the mixing console without using a DI box. Galvanic isolation provides the most reliable protection against unwanted DC voltage.
QuadCore cabling
For maximum sound quality, the SoundWire uses a shielded QuadCore construction with two cores per channel (left and right) and additional shielding. This minimizes noise, crosstalk and electromagnetic interference - ideal for live and studio applications.
Tour-grade design
The rugged nylon braided jacket (24-nylon twin-fibre) provides extra strength, flexibility and a comfortable grip. Combined with gold-plated Neutrik XLR connectors, the SoundWire is built to perform reliably for years, even in demanding conditions.
Convenient toggle-tie
The integrated toggle-tie makes coiling and securing the cable easy and prevents tape use or cable tangling. This keeps your setup tidy and ready for transport or storage quickly.
What do we think?
At first glance, the Sonnect SoundWire looks like a simple cable, but in reality it incorporates smart, custom-developed technology. That also explains the price, which is comparable to compact USB interfaces - but the SoundWire replaces both a stereo DI box and transformer isolation box at the same time. It's nice that the unit is fully class-compliant: just plug it in and use it immediately, without installation or configuration. In addition, you no longer have to worry about 48V phantom power and it delivers perfectly balanced, transformer-isolated signals at just the right level. What struck us most is that the convenience does not come at the expense of sound quality. The SoundWire sounds unparalleled and offers stable, noise-free output - exactly what you want when connecting a laptop, tablet or other playback device directly to a mixing console. After several tests in our own audio setups, we can say: this is a cable you can't live without. For those who regularly connect digital sources to a PA or mixer, the SoundWire is a smart, professional and secure solution.
