This Kompressor snare drum features a 1.2mm-thick black nickel brass shell measuring 13x7", 8 Sonor TuneSafe double lugs, Steel Power Hoops, and a Sonor standard throw-off. As part of the development process for all its drums, Sonor spends extra time meticulously fine-tuning dimensions in relation to materials—a process they call Optimum Shell Measurements (OSM). As a result, Sonor shells are slightly smaller in diameter than the specified size, allowing the heads to resonate optimally. As a result, the 7" deep brass shell delivers plenty of body, a nice thud, and at the same time sufficient tone, definition, and subtlety. An awesome snare drum for all-around use (pop, funk, rock).
