With its 1.2mm thick aluminum 14x6" shell, the Starphonic Aluminum gives a distinct sound; crispy, but dry with a strong degree of "cut through the mix" and at the retro end of the sound spectrum. In fact, an aluminum snare can't be missing from your collection; maybe not always as the main snare, but just to have it around for that specific sound whether you're a performing or studio drummer!
When you choose Tama, you choose quality and a great price-quality ratio. Standard on all Starphonic snares are the Tama "Freedom lugs" with "Grooved hoop" which makes sheet replacement a breeze. The strainer and butt-end are Tama's MLS50A/MLS50B and the snare wires are the MS20RL14C
