This hammered Acrophonic snare is a special blend of features from several iconic Ludwig USA snare drums. Basically, it features a seamless, rolled aluminum shell, like that of the Acrolite, but it is equipped with Imperial lugs from the Phonic range snares. This gives this Acrolite-like snare the same luxurious and prestigious look of -for example- a Supraphonic.
We deliberately chose the hammered version and 6.5" depth. Aluminum snaredrums typically sound dry -as is the typical sound of the Acrolite. Hammering of the shell -in general- provides an even drier sound and the 6.5" depth provides body. The result; a very dry, fat "thud" sound. Perfect for that characteristic, retro snare drum sound.
