This Prolite snare features a 6-ply, 4 mm thick cross-laminated maple shell with 3-ply, 2 mm thick reinforcement hoops, measures 14x6", and is entirely handmade in Germany. It features ten Sonor TuneSafe double lugs, Steel Power Hoops, and a Sonor Dual Glide throw-off. During the development process for all its drums, Sonor devotes extra time to precisely fine-tuning dimensions and materials—a process they call Optimum Shell Measurements (OSM). For example, Sonor shells have a slightly smaller diameter than the specified size, allowing the heads to resonate optimally.
