Both a bubinga and a walnut snare are essential additions to Tama’s Star Reserve lineup. And so Tama opted for a hybrid bubinga/walnut shell! The shell is only 6 layers thick (5.5 mm) with a beautiful “Claro Walnut” outer layer and features maple reinforcement hoops on the inside. This 14x6.5" snare is definitely an all-rounder and delivers a nice mix of brightness (that “cuts through the mix”), body, and a dry, woody tone. The hardware: Star Tube Lugs, Sound Arc Hoops (10 holes), and a Linear Driver strainer & butt-end with a Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare mat.
