Neither a bubinga nor a walnut snare should really be missing from Tama's Star Reserve lineup. And so Tama chose a hybrid shell of bubinga / walnut!
The shell is only 6 layers thick (5.5mm) with a beautiful "Claro Walnut" outer layer and features maple reinforcement hoops on the inside. This 14x6.5" snare is definitely an all-rounder and gives a nice mix of brightness ("cut through the mix"), body and a dry, woody tone.
The hardware: Star Tube Lugs, Sound Arc Hoops (10 holes) and Linear Driver strainer & butt-end with Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon snare mat.
