Because for a long time -as far as we are concerned- Sonor was in lack of some choice for this department! With a variety of three different metal types and a several different size configurations, the Kompressor snare drum series offers something for everyone; 100% success rate!

And as to be expected from Sonor, these are drums of stature! And by that we mean; top quality, Deutsche gründlichkeit! A characteristic which we consider to be inseparable for Sonor really. The Kompressor snare drums are built in the production facility in China and therefor they are very affordable as well. Sonor can now offer a range of drums with a specific, excellent price to quality ratio which they have not had available before. And we are more than excited that Sonor now takes its well deserved place on the market.

This Kompressor snare has a 1mm thick steel shell measuring 14x5.75", ten Sonor TuneSafe double lugs, Steel Power Hoops and Sonor standard throw off. Within the development process of all drums, Sonor spends extra time closely fine tuning dimensions vs materials; a process they call Optimum Shell Measurements (OSM). For example, Sonor shells are slightly smaller in diameter than the specified size, allowing the heads to resonate optimally. With that, the 5.75" deep steel shell gives a bright defined snare sound with lots of rich overtones and stick definition. This also makes the snare great for tuning up a bit higher. A versatile drum for sure, but above all very suitable for the drummer who can play in a controlled and subtle way, making good use of the rich sound of the steel snare drum.
