The Kompressor snare drums are built in the production facility in China and therefor they are very affordable as well. Sonor can now offer a range of drums with a specific, excellent price to quality ratio which they have not had available before. And we are more than excited that Sonor now takes its well deserved place on the market.
This Kompressor snare has a 2mm thick aluminum shell measuring 14x5.75", ten Sonor TuneSafe double lugs, Steel Power Hoops and Sonor standard throw off. Within the development process of all drums, Sonor spends extra time closely fine tuning dimensions vs materials; a process they call Optimum Shell Measurements (OSM). For example, Sonor shells are slightly smaller in diameter than the specified size, allowing the heads to resonate optimally. With that, the 5.75" deep aluminum shell gives characteristic dryness with plenty of attack, crisp and stick definition. A great snare drum for a more traditional, old-school sound.
