Sonor's special series feature exclusive, state-of-the-art masterpiece snare drums, all handmade and skillfully build in Sonor's workshop in Germany. The "Cottonwood" as perhaps the most all round and desireable of the collection. It features a maple 6 mm / 9 ply shell with a gorgeous "Cottonwood" outer ply and die-cast hoops (10 holes with the lugs in offset). Not only is it build like a tank, it sounds like one too; the sturdy shell construction, heavy hoops and 45 degree bearing edge make for this snare to sound really snappy and bright with a clear attack, yet very responsive and dynamic as well. The 9 ply maple provides for a nice ring and harmonics as well; this is not a dry snare!
