Fun fact; this snare was marketed in 1963 primarily as a student/practice snare due to its dry and cracking sound. Soon, however, the sound of this snare was widely embraced and it has since become one of the most widely used snares in the studio.
The 1.6 mm thick seamless shell of this snare is made of rolled aluminum and in this 6.5" depth measurement the snare sounds not only dry but also full and fat. With its matte shell and blue / olive batch it has a very recognizable and cool appearance ... not unimportant! This unique version of the classic Acrolite is equipped with tube lugs instead of the classic twin lugs.
